                                                                                Our Sessions

                                             What to Expect

During the first session (consultation) we will talk about what you would like to work on and ways in which we can help you. We will also determine if we are a good match. A consultation may be useful if you are not sure whether you need or want therapy or if you are looking for a second opinion.

Seeing a psychologist for the first time can be a bit unnerving—if you have some feelings of reservation, this is normal! Olena is sensitive to this and is therefore committed to providing a relaxed environment that will not create pressure or expectations on you.

Your first session is an opportunity to get to know Olena and for her to gain an understanding of you and the situation you want to work through. The sessions that follow will involve you working together with Olena toward the goals that you wish to achieve. Each standard session is 50 minutes in length.

Keep in mind that psychologists are there for your benefit, not their own. Because of this, Olena will always be more than happy to discuss anything that makes you uncomfortable or unsure about the services she provides.

                                                                             Typical Session

Individual and Couples sessions are typically weekly, however, depending on your needs we may meet twice a week or twice a month. Each session will be tailored to your needs, with a focus on your goals, difficulties impeding your progress, and strengths.

                                                                              Referrals

It is not necessary to have a referral to see a psychologist and you can book an appointment to see a psychologist anytime.  However, it may be worthwhile to speak to your GP regarding your mental health as sometimes medical conditions can impact your emotional well-being. A GP is able to provide a general assessment of your health for you.

                                                                     PRICING & REBATES

Medicare Rebates & Mental Health Care Plans (MHCP)

Vector S Psychology is a Medicare-supported business. This means that you can receive 10 rebated sessions per calendar year under Medicare, for either in-person or Telehealth sessions.  Medicare rebates are $93.35 per session. Medicare rebates can only be claimed under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), which you can obtain from your General Practitioner.

A Mental Health Care Plan enables your sessions to be subsidised under Medicare meaning you will receive a rebate each session, however, there will still be a modest out-of-pocket expense. Fees are based on a 55-minute session; cash, EFTPOS, and Credit Card payments are accepted.

Rebates: We have on-the-spot Medicare claiming EFTPOS terminal. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan, then a rebate can be processed back to your Savings or Cheque account through our EFTPOS terminal. Please have your bank card with you for the Medicare rebate.  The fee for your session is required to be paid in full on the day of your appointment.

                                                                Private Health Insurance

You will need to check with your private health insurance to see if they cover Psychology sessions.

Depending on the level of coverage you have for private health, you may be eligible to claim rebates on your sessions from your provider. We cannot provide private health insurance rebates, however, you can do so after your session with your insurer.

We work with Work Cover safety and workers' compensation services.

Cancellation policy: Please note if your appointment is canceled within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, we will do our best to replace your appointment. However, if we are unable to replace your appointment, a cancellation fee will be charged to you. This fee will need to be paid directly by you and cannot be passed on to Medicare or any other third party.
