INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

I love to help people develop valuable skills to cope with life’s obstacles in a way that gives them a deep sense of purpose. I aim to help you achieve your maximum potential and self-fulfillment using your strengths, not just better coping.  I view my psychological work as a process aimed at facilitating awareness, growth, and change to achieve the highest forms of synergy in people’s lives. I have a special interest in helping people from other cultures deal with the stress involved with adapting to new environments. Individual therapy includes but is not limited to:

Psychoeducation and skills development to

Building stronger relationships and healthier ways to cope with issues as an important part of looking after mental health.

Trauma Counselling that consists of trauma-focused psychological interventions such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR). These focus on education, stress management techniques, and helping the person to confront feared situations and distressing memories.

Anxiety Counselling. Feelings of anxiety and panic can be overwhelming, but regardless of how intense your feelings are, it is important to remember that these feelings and experiences are very common. Many people have been through similar things—you are certainly not alone.

Depression Counselling. Sometimes, symptoms of depression can make you feel helpless and alone. In these moments it’s important to remember that lots of people have been through similar experiences to you. And many who have recovered have used Depression Counselling to help them return to living normal, fulfilling lives.

It can be extremely beneficial in regaining a sense of self-worth and a healthy approach to life.

Anxiety and Depression counseling can help you overcome feelings of anxiety or depression and lead to a more  satisfying, happy life by:

  • learning skills to handle  difficult thoughts and feelings more  effectively, so they have less effect  and influence over you;

  • clarifying your values: what matters to you, what you want to stand for, how you want to treat yourself and others, what gives you a sense of meaning and purpose in your life;

  • learning assertiveness and effective communication skills to improve your relationships;

  • taking actions to solve problems, and to do things that make life better.
